Oli Barton marks his restart at The Star Of Kings

The beginning of 2024 is effectively a restart for Oli Barton. The show at The Star Of Kings in London, supporting Felix Hill, effectively marked the start of a new era for the London-based musician, as he’s re-launching himself as a solo artist, while being joined on stage by 3 musicians he has known for quite a long time: Guitarist Jamal, bassist Marco and drummer Josh. Oli and the band went on stage only hours before the release of his new song “It’s over now”, which counts as his debut solo single, despite having previous releases.

Oli didn’t mess about. He started with the relatively new song “What will I become” which set the tone for a pleasing energetic pop-rock set.

That was followed by “It’s over now”, around 3 hours before the song was released.

The set which was high-energy from start to finish, included the song Stayed In, as well as 4 more new songs, which are expected to be released in the near future:

You Just Played My Mind

Day & Night

The Light

Tanqueray

Oli ended the show with the song called “44”, with yet another up-beat energizing song, with Jamal adding to the thrills with his pleasing guitar solo.

Overall, a high tempo pop-rock set with songs like “It’s over now”, “You just played my mind”, Day & Night” and “44” standing out, perfectly setting up the mood for the main act of the evening. Oli Barton showed that he already has very good foundations to build on, as he’s starting a new phase in his career. At the end of the show, he had a new release to look forward to, with more new songs waiting to be released. With “It’s over now”, it’s just starting now.
