Gig review: When Grace Calver graced The Grace

It was a gig that always had to happen. Grace at The Grace. It was something we've mentioned in the past in some of our conversations and it finally became a reality. Grace Calver supported Connie Talbot at The Grace in London.

It was a Sunday afternoon gig. In the build up to the event, it became apparent that the government's national emergency alert to all mobile devices, would be sent around the time Grace would be finishing her set.

Milk half pint

Despite the fact she has been playing without a band for quite a long time now, she's still able to entertain just as well. And of course it wouldn't be different at the venue which has her name above the door. She came with enthusiasm and positive energy, prepared to face the alert, determined to give everyone a great experience. With just a microphone and an acoustic guitar, Grace Calver delivered a feel-good show as always. The set list included her recent singles Nothing Too Serious, So Last Season and Social Media Generation, an unreleased song and the old time favourite, Addicted.

Milk

We had a little chat before the set and Grace confirmed the upcoming release of Milk. The official announcement came shortly after this gig.

And here is the song. It's coming out on the 10th of October. As she said on social media, she wanted to release it on 10/10 because it's 10/10. Absolutely right.

Addicted is back!

Addicted is back into the set list. Thankfully Grace listened to people's requests and  got this anthem back into the setlist. It's amazing how you can get addicted to a song called Addicted.

National emergency alert: the music is about to end!

As soon as Grace Calver announced the gig, the government announced that there will be a national emergency alert, sent to all mobile devices at the time Grace Calver would be completing her set at The Grace (not in that exact wording). I asked Grace about it before her set.

When the set was getting dangerously close to the end, the alert was sent

Grace was playing her latest single, Nothing Too Serious, which was the last one on the set list. When the song was getting dangerously close to the end, the emergency alert was sent. Grace handled the situation with patience and good mood. After all, it was nothing too serious. A few seconds later, she was able to continue and finish the song.

Supporting T'Pau again

Grace Calver has more exciting things coming up. She recently supported T'Pau and she wanted that to happen again. Well, you know what the say about wishing things: "They may come true, and you can't help them". She will support T'Pau again on Thursday 2nd October in Chester. Last time, she forgot to pick up her little guitar stand from the stage. She may be tempted to make a tradition of leaving a guitar stand behind, everytime she supports T'Pau.

Just 8 days later, she's delivering Milk. Have you ever pre-saved milk? Here's the chance:
