Single review: Cards We Dealt - M60
After playing it live and having a great reception for it during their recent tour, M60 are finally releasing Cards We Dealt. Like some other of their songs, Cards We Dealt is about a relationship that didn’t work out. It addresses the unstable emotions in the situation of a break-up, in an up-beat rock rhythm, with Matthew's distinctive voice blending perfectly with the electric guitar riffs.

Also like some other of their songs, it’s a very catchy up-beat song, which makes you sing about heartbreak as if it’s a good thing.
Here’s a preview of the studio production:
Since their debut single “Honey” back in 2016, the 4-piece from Greater Manchester have delivered a few bangers including Day By Day, I don’t Mind, Won’tcha and, more recently, I Wanna Go. They seem to manage to have a serious meaning in their lyrics, without necessarily keeping the wording excessively corporate. They write lyrics at a tone that connects with people, while their up-beat riffs (except Day By Day) and their energy, send waves of energy to the crowd.
Here’s a video of M60 performing Cards We Dealt live in April at a The Grace in London, which was sold out, with Gary Neville watching. More videos from their headline show at The Grace, can be found on our Youtube channel.
